Jubilation Ringers

The Jubilation Ringers are one of two adult handbell choirs at Atonement. These handbell choirs provide a unique place for adults with prior instrumental musical experience to participate individually in musical and spiritual growth. Members learn to incorporate their ringing into a closely knit team where they become worship leaders. Musical and technical skills are taught, and friendships are developed through the team effort that makes a handbells choir. We seek to glorify God as we ring praise and prayer offerings in our church and as an outreach in our community.

Jubilation typically plays Level 2-4 music once a month in worship using 5 octaves of Schulmerich handbells and 5 octaves of Malmark handchimes. Adults who have never rung handbells are welcome to join this ensemble and learn to praise God through handbells. Upcoming worship services include Palm Sunday at the 8:30 and 11am services, Easter Sundayat the 8:30 and 11am services, and the 8:30 worship service on Sunday, May 8th.

Jubilation Ringers rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm September through May. They have played in concerts at Atonement with the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the Kansas City Civic Orchestra. They have also played in area events like Ring in the Spring. Several of the members also have participated in the Handbell Musicians of America (formerly AGEHR) Area VIII conferences to play with other ringers from the five state area.
