The Hope Chest at Valley View United Methodist Church located on 95th St. in Overland Park is a food pantry and children's clothing center.  Those in need visit monthly and receive a grocery bag of food items and one complete outfit for each child in the family.  At Thanksgiving and/or Christmas each family that applies receives a turkey or ham and a bag of groceries for their dinner.  On an average they serve about 145 families each month. Atonement partners with other area churches to support this obvious need in Johnson County.

Our benevolence dollars help to bring food from Harvesters and other sources to the pantry in addition to our own collection of non-perishable items.  At present we have three volunteers from Atonement working Monday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

If you are interested in donating non-perishable items, please leave them in the designated container at The Drop-Off Spot.
