Caring Ministry News

“Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.“

PRAYER

Blessed are you, Sovereign God, ruler and judge of all, to you be praise and glory forever.
In the darkness of this age that is passing away, may the light of your presence
which the saints enjoy surround our steps as we journey on.
May we reflect your glory this day and so be made ready to see your face
in the heavenly city where night shall be no more. Amen

You are invited to write the names on a ribbon of loved ones who have died, tie the ribbon on the net and offer up prayers prayers of thanksgiving for them and the memories you have. The prayer net will remain up through November.

Message of the Day

The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them.
~Thomas Merton

(This applies to God as well. Encountering the real God who is not simply a projection of our ideas about God is the challenge, and the invitation . . . Let God be God for you this day.)
