Serve at Atonement

In Worship:
We welcome volunteers to...

  • Serve as ushers
  • Serve as worship assistants, communion assistants, readers for the Scripture lessons and/or for the prayers of the people
  • Serve as acolytes and crucifers (4th-8th graders)
  • Staff our sound booth, recording our worship services
  • Serve as Altar Guild members and as worship coordinators (high school students) help to prepare for worship
  • Share their gifts through dance, dramatic arts, and visual arts

In our Music Ministry
We welcome volunteers to...

  • Sing in our Sanctuary Choir or 1st Saturday Choir
  • Ring in our Adult Handbell Choir
  • Share their gifts as individual instrumentalists or with our A.C.E. Ensemble
  • Assist in planning, feeding and/or housing students from college choirs who are performing at Atonement
  • Participate in our Youth Handbell Choir for grades 3-12

In our Children's Ministry
We welcome volunteers to...

  • Serve as large and small group leaders
  • Decorate classrooms annually and our Sunday morning stage area
  • Plan and help lead activities and events
  • Help secure supplies for Sunday School
  • Help plan and/or lead VBS
  • Serve on our KFaM team
  • Participate in our Youth Handbell Choir for grades 3-12 (also see under music ministry)

In our Youth Ministry
We welcome volunteers to...

  • Host or help lead HS Bible studies
  • Serve as a co-coordinator to plan and support opportunities to serve in the community for our HS students
  • Help plan “Serve Saturdays” for our confirmation students to serve in the community

In our Care Ministry
We welcome volunteers to...

  • Serve as a Stephen Minister, after having received 50 hours of training to provide one-on-one Christian caregiving
  • Make monthly visits to those who are homebound and provide communion to them
  • Assist with mailings and other general tasks

In our Fellowship Ministry:
We welcome volunteers to...

  • Help with our Café, setting/cleaning up and welcoming both visitors and members following our 8:30am worship service
  • Assist with large-group fellowship events
  • Assist with funeral luncheons, etc

In our Outreach Ministry
We welcome volunteers to...

  • Serve on our Outreach Advisory Team, which reviews current activities and participates in engaging members to serve in the community
  • Explore the many options of serving in our community through ministries of homelessness, hunger, peace & justice opportunities, and more
  • Serve as greeters, and as intentional “welcomers” to those who may be visiting Atonement worship for the first time

In our Property Ministry:
We welcome volunteers to...

  • Serve on our Property team, helping to make decisions regarding property needs
  • Share their skills/interests in: painting; basic landscaping/flowers; light plumbing; light carpentry; light electrical; carpeting; flooring; general cleaning; small construction projects; audio/visual technicians for worship
  • Volunteer for Property Workdays that are scheduled periodically

In our Small Group Ministry
We welcome volunteers to...

  • Participate in one or more of our small groups built around Bible study, fellowship, and more
  • Serve on our Small Group Ministry Team
