Help Spread the Warmth in December
PROJECT 10❤️20 – AN ADVENT CHALLENGE
Project 10❤️20 is JoCo’s ONLY cold-weather shelter, and is run by volunteers. Atonement’s Outreach Team offered an Advent Challenge, providing up to $4,000 total in matching funds for your donations through December 22.
UPDATE: A total of $9,600.00 was raised as part of this year's challenge! When the head of Project 10❤️20 learned the total amount of Atonement’s donation, she was moved to tears and deeply grateful for Atonement’s generous support. Your donations will provide warm clothing, boots, coats, essential toiletries and hygiene items, over-the-counter medicines, and new sheets and blankets. They will also help cover the cost of new cots so guests have a safe and dignified place to rest. Thank you for sharing hope and comfort with neighbors who have nowhere else to turn. Your Advent generosity has made a real difference.
Even though the challenge has ended, you may still donate to the Project 10❤️20 fund. Their need is ongoing. To donate, click the graphic below, note “Project 1020” on a check placed in the offering plate, or use one of the giving options here.)

Christmas Eve Worship Frequently Asked Questions
Should I expect crowds?
On Christmas Eve, seating can fill up quickly. Please arrive early to allow time to park and find a seat before worship begins.
What should I wear?
Come as you are and be comfortable! You will find worshippers in anything from jeans to dresses and suits!
How accessible is Atonement’s campus?
Atonement has three entrances—on the north, east, and south sides of the building. All have handicapped-accessible parking and ramps and lead to the sanctuary at the south end of the building. We also offer personal hearing systems in the sanctuary for those experiencing difficulty hearing and noise-cancelling headphones for those who are sensitive to loud environments (for assistance, please speak to an usher). Restrooms are located next to the nursery, north of the sanctuary.
Who is invited to receive communion?
YOU are! At Atonement, we practice “open communion,” which means that everyone and anyone is welcome at God’s table. It does not matter what denomination you belong to, which congregation you attend, or even if you are a church-goer at all; YOU are welcome to the table with us. (You will find guidance for communion in the printed worship bulletin at each worship service.)
Are children welcome?
Yes! We love kids! Parents and children are encouraged to attend worship together with friends and neighbors. Should it be one of those times when sitting still is just too challenging, DURING ALL CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES, we also offer a crib room and a staffed nursery north of the sanctuary for children up to age 5. Parents can also sit with their children in the lobby, where they can hear and follow the services together.
Is Atonement a welcoming congregation?
Atonement Lutheran Church believes that all people are created by God and share the same need for forgiveness, hope and healing. Even on issues where it is difficult to reach a consensus, Atonement desires to reflect the love of Jesus with a welcoming spirit. Moving beyond the common distinctions of race, national origin, age, physical and mental ability, political perspective, personal history, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, economic or social situation, we seek to invite and welcome all people to experience God’s love and grace. View our full Welcome Statement here.
What is your worship service style?
Atonement's worship services follow Lutheran liturgy, with the addition of various musicians and hymn styles. Our worship is a blend of worship styles.
